Can you confirm the one you got from them has the pointed pins? *cameras: Canon 1D Mark III | Canon 1D Mark II | Canon 1D "Classic" | Canon S95

I checked my records and this is the number I called when I ordered. I did not even has to ask for the pointy pins and I got them. Image Editing OK

msowsun "approx 8mm" ![]() More info | Nov 24, 2011 11:12 | #20 I just spoke to Canon about my 4 year old 580EX II. They won't repair it for free, but they will sell me a replacement part. The old Canon part number is CY2-4220, but the new "Pointy Contact" replacement part is CY2-4220-020 Mike Sowsun / SL1 / 80D / EF-S 24mm STM / EF-S 10-18mm STM / EF-S 18-55mm STM / EF-S 15-85mm USM / EF-S 55-250mm STM / 5D3 / Samyang 14mm 2.8 / EF 40mm 2.8 STM / EF 50mm 1.4 USM / EF 100mm 2.0 USM / EF 100mm 2.8 USM Macro / EF 24-105mm IS / EF 70-200mm 2.8L IS Mk II / EF 100-400 II / EF 1.4x II

It is one piece on the left - 4 screws. Thanks for the part number. I'll keep that for next time. Canon Canada does not have it's own parts devision for consumers so they gave me a number to a place in Toronto. They were quite confused and emailed me pages of drawings. I did not want to take a chance on getting the old ones so I ordered from Canon USA parts. They knew right away what I needed. Image Editing OK

In my search for a fix I found this post which details how one person went about fixing the loose connection. May or may not work, but it's a fairly easy DIY for 0 cost if it actually works.
