This is almost SOOC (straight out of camera)...I LOVE this lens. If you have it, you know you need a LOT of room but when you do have the room, it's beautiful

I'm tossing up between this and the 135 F2L because I have given my 70-200F4ISL to the hubby. I kind of need something with the 200 reach as a re[placement and I'm not keen on another big white lens. BUT the 135L is meant to be the king of the Ls for sharpness. Kind of torn

The 200mm 2.8L is the cheapest L's prime. It is also one of the sharpest. Compared to this with the 135L, I see no real world differences that would make me question which lens is better other than for the price of this lens, you can buy the 85 1.8 along with it.

I am really considering returning my 70-200 mark II and buying another 200mm 2.8 II. Maybe even getting the 135 as well being as both of these together are cheaper than the 70-200. I am having issues with 70-200 and need to swap it out anyway. I had the 200mm 2.8 II before with the 70-300L and returned both of them to fund the 70-200. I am also considering the 300mm f4 IS but not sure yet.

200 2.8L is as Good as 135L .

for me it does not matter what’s the price of a lens…… as long it is capable of producing what I “Demand” out of that lens and 200 2.8L is one of my favorite.

If you need to replace 70-200 with Primes…… in the end YOU will end up with both of these lenses ( 135 L + 200L 2.8). so the question should be “which one you should get first”…!!!

70-200 IS mkII is The Best Zoom lens from Canon But……
An Excellent Prime alternative - Canon 85 1.8 + 135L +200. 2.8L and if possible add Canon 100macro (non L).
The Ultimate alternative - Canon 85L mkII+ 100L+ 135L and 200 2.8L… ;

Agreed…..;
With just One deference, Canon 135L is a f2 lens and you won’t be able to get an Identical result out of a f2.8 lens.

with Best wishes……Arman.

Did you add the vignetting or are these images as shot? My 200L exhibits very little vignetting wide open and by f/4 it is gone.

I added it. a lot of the backgrounds were busy with people so I tried to minimize distractions.
