Does the 70-200 f2.8L IS Mk2 deserve a name?

While I am not sure what it should be called, if I heard someone referring to "prime killer" or something with that meaning, I would know what lens they were talking about right away. That's something to consider.

Magic Plumbing Pipe. Play on words for 80-200 2.8l which was magic drain pipe. 70-200 II is plumbing pipe because of white color

As silverfox stated several posts back, the lens is known throughout the photo community as "The Beast" though you can call it what you want. :-)
