I just bought mine... Again???

I figure I can sell my current one for what I paid for this one in a few weeks when rebates end... I bought the new one with my amex so my warranty is "refreshed" from nothing on my current to now 2-years. Its like updating your car model year without paying anything! I got mine for the $1974, but I also get points so technically I get like $20 back on my Amex as well. So for $1950 that is awesome.

Look forward to my second 70-200 II... I am going to compare them optically and see if I notice anything at all different.

Glad I stumbled on this thread. I just ordered the 70-200 II last night from B&H for $2074. Called them up and got the discount. They are truly awesome.

B&H hasn't sold out yet so they must have a lot of these in stock. That's such a great price as long as you don't mind carrying that heavy of a lens around.

I wish they'd offer the 24-105 at a good sale price like that, I'd buy it in an instant! I didn't add it when I bought my 5DII so I'm kicking myself now.

Same thing, mine just shipped along with a 17-40. Figure I will weed out what I don't need later. My new years resolution will be to not buy any more gear ( and probably stay off this site :-}

I don't know, there is something that multiplies the excitement to get more than 1 lens at a time. I really wanted to get the 35L and the 135L at the same time, but settled on getting the wife's buy-in on the 35L.

Today the 17-40 is in my quick picks at Amazon for $671 and that's hard to pass up. But the 17-40 is farther down my list. All these temptations...

The 17-40 was really all I intended on getting but the 70-200 was hard to pass up.

I just ordered the 70-200II two weeks ago for $2,299. I contacted B&H Live Chat and they will be issuing me a credit. Great customer service.

Wife said "DONT BUY IT" - pretty sure she has not purchased it for me already.

I just pulled the trigger - hope she does not pull the trigger when she sees the bill!!!

Intentionally bucking the wife's words - that's brave! :lol: Good luck!
