[I'm] in the market for [an] all around lens for my 60d.

Consider the Canon 18-200mm image stabilizer lens, (external link) which generated these images.

The Canon lens captures good images in a wide range of conditions with no difficulty. It might be the only lens you need in most situations.

I've been very happy with the Canon EF-S 15-85. Just an all around great lens. I have no doubt that the Sigma 17-70 will be equally great; I have the 17-50 and it's amazing. I find the 15-85 gives me the range for most casual photography. My 17-50 goes along when I know I'm in a short space with lower light. The 15-85 with a Speedlight will give you a ton of options.

For a vacation, I was taking the sig 17-70 and 70-200, found it bulky and the family was like I am not waiting for you to change lenses. I went and bought a 18-135 for under $250 from someone's kit, it worked great and I had tons of great photos and I think is the best bargain lenses out there, value of price/iq/(is)/resale, I ended up buying the 18-200 because i wanted to,go,longer, and am very happy with it also, for, around $400. Both these lenses seem to get put down because they are kit lenses. I found I take,so many more photos when traveling with this lens, at home I use the other combo.

Alright guys and gals,
Im in the market for a all around lens for my 60d. Currently in my lens rotation is a Sigma 10-20mm; Canon 50mm 1.8, and a Canon 55-250is lens.
Im stuck on what to get. I want an all around lens to pretty much finish off my collection of lens.. (hopefully, but u guys know how that goes. lol).

what would u guys recommend as an all around lens, say to shoot around if i go on vacation, or just going to a family party.
Thanks!

As you can see, there are plenty of choices for a "great all around" lens !

Sigma 17-50 2.8
Tamron 17-50 2.8
Canon 17-50 2.8
Canon 15-85
Canon 18-135

Tamron 17-50 f2.8 and with the price saved from Sigma you could add on an extra 50 1.8 and a Speedlight or a 85 f1.8

Yeah you would, because you would wish you had more zoom. Being stuck at 55mm sucks..

18-200 Link to Flickr where you can spend some serious time looking at over 90,000 Canon 18-200mm images: http://www.flickr.com …l&q=canon+18-200mm&m=text (external link)

I have used my nephew's, it is nice for travel and family type outings where you want to take a minimum amount of equipment.

I suggest the EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens. This lens would give you image quality that is at least as good as the 16-35 L, a wider focal length range (though not quite 16mm) and IS.

I'm very happy with my sigma 17-70 OS for those purposes. Great range (17-50 is too short IMO), good aperture values (the 3.5-5.6 of the 15-85 is too slow for me), not too expensive, great IQ.

Second that, my favorite lens.

Canon 17-55 f2.8 is certainly worth a try. It's expensive, but you're clearly not a low-end buyer, buying up in the current xxD range. I got my pristine 17-55 for $800 on CL... God love college students who need quick cash for books.
