In the past couple of months I've bought too many things for my new hobby, but today I sold three Canon L lenses and ordered a Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS II L from Adorama for $1974 via FatWallet link and received notification from FatWallet that I have cash back due! Overall I lost money (perhaps even a lot), but I am very happy with my purchase and plan to get a lot of use out of my new lens.

I sold my 100-400 IS, 70-200 F/2.8 IS, and my 70-200 F/4 non IS just to free up funds to take advantage of the AWESOME deal offered by Adorama.

I know there's a thread already about B&H, but I opted for Adorama mainly because I have read many posts by Helen offering assistance or advice on purchases. Personalized CS is a valuable assett for a company to have and the CS of Adorama earned my business; though I do hope to never need further assistance, it's nice to know it's there.

Who else opted in?

Chose Adorama because of Helen too. BH gets a crap load of business as it is. Hope you selected her name during checkout as the associate who assisted. Maybe the more her name is selected, the bigger the bonus she gets.

I have delt with the other CS reps and they are great too. But they are not on the drop down menu

I hope Helen gets a big bonus this year. She has most definitely deserved it!

I almost never buy from them, because they started to add Sales Tax on NJ for some stupid reason. That would add another 168.00 on this for me. I stick with BH out of NYC

I wonder how much whining is going to go down once there is a federal amendment to collect sales tax regardless of what state you buy from. don't kid yourself, it's coming.

And at the rate they're taxing things, someday they'll tax us just for looking at something and thinking about buying it....

Whining is one thing...if it truly affects spending habits, then that's something to talk about
