I keep coming across threads where people with both bodies say one shines where the other is lacking and vice versa.

Does anyone have any pictures that creates a fair comparison to support this? There's been plenty of anecdotal evidence, but I've yet to see.

You'll be hard pressed to see much difference at 1024x and compressed for the web...

Your best bet would be to have someone who owns both send you raw files of the same scene and through your own workflow, decide for yourself.

The search function is your friend here and Google also has a pretty good search engine as well I've heard.

All 3 of those dslrs are close enough in image quality it's going to be left up to the individual photographer to make a particular image stand out from the others.

Why do people try and compare two different cameras designed for two completely different jobs?

The 5D MK2 does excel in certain types of photography over the 7D, and vice versa, what you have to ask yourself, what type of photography is most important to you, and percentage of what you do most to determine what body suits your requirement.

They are both incredible cameras. I don't think anyone goes wrong either way. If I can every afford a second camer/backup it will be the 5DmkII with my 7D.

Damn, and here I was thinking both were designed for the same job .... TAKING PICTURES!

In all serious, when it comes to the two bodies .......

If it moves, shoot it with the 7D.

If it stands still, shoot it with the 5D2.

I don't disagree. However in threads like this one a number of people who reportedly hace lots of experience with both bodies make strange claims:
https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1121737

Some of us, including me (for now), have never shot a 5DII or 7D, let alone held a 1D. I'd like to see what people mean when they make these claims, rather than just make sweeping claims.

To me, it's like comparing the BMW M3 and M5, saying one's crap while the other is amazing. Makes no sense. But I want to see what some of the more opinionated people, who say they have experience and shoot with both bodies every day, mean.

I did an IQ and ISO test between these two, click the mini reviews in my signature to see the various body and lens comparisons.

I haven't run across any threads where one fanbase says the other type of dslr is crap. Even the most hardcore dslr owner here knows better than to start that up.
