I have the Sigma 70-300 F4 and I love it. I can imagine that the 70-200 2.8 works the same or better. I love Sigma products.

I took some shots at the zoo in Madrid with this lens last weekend. Here are some examples & a macro shot using this lens + extension tubes.

Check out the Market Watch section. There was a thread about the Sigma being on sale somewhere for $1200. That's a great deal. Or you can buy used, someone was reducing his price to $1050 due to the new costing only $1200

Why did you sell in the end?

Was it the lure of the 70-200 mk II?

Yea. I grabbed a 70-200 on the flash sale from BH. Its funny, I actually think the Sigma focuses faster in low light. Ive never had my Sigma pass the focus point and then come back to find focus. Ive had the happen several times in the short time of owning the Canon. Granted, I have the focus limiter set on the longest setting but since the sigma doesnt have that option, its set on that anyway.

Have you noticed much difference in IQ?

I suspect it is mainly down the 2.8 end that you will see the difference?

At 2.8, yes, its noticeable sharper. The sigma is crazy sharp at F4 though. I just like to support the economy. :D
