For all of the folks who have asked for information regarding the manufacturer, I have passed on your desire to purchase directly from him. He explained to me that he does not sell by mail, because he is not set up to handle payments, delivery, etc. He would like to help everybody out, but he's just not in the business to do that sort of thing. He supplies locally to a number of photographic supply shops, and he supplies to some of the local colleges that offer photography classes. That's about it.

He also said that his machine that performs the die-cutting of the raw material is presently set-up to cut a different pattern, and he doesn't plan on changing out the part that does the cutting (die) until he is completed with his current customer. He isn't sure when that will be.

So, it looks like those that have asked about purchasing directly from him in bulk are out of luck at this time. He is a good friend of mine, and I don't want to press him into doing something he really doesn't want to do. As it is, he gave me approximately 500 of them for free to start with, and I'm not about to ask him to manufacture a bunch more. I'm just giving away the extras that I didn't need.

Anyway, at this point, I am going to close this offer for the free gel holders. If I contacted you via PM, then you can go ahead and send me the Self-Addressed-Stamped-Envelope. ... I've accounted for you in the remaining supply of gel holders that I have left, and I have enough to cover you. By the time the last one is given away, I will have distributed exactly 163 of them. That's exactly how many extras I had to start with.

It's actually been a lot of work for me (actually my assistant has been doing all the work), checking and responding to the requests. Furthermore, she has been rather surprised at how many people neglected to put a stamp on the return envelope, and I just told her to put a stamp on if for them. ... I don't mind paying for a bunch of postage stamps, but when I'm giving them away free to start with, it's kind of silly.

So at this point, the free gel holders are all gone, or they are accounted for. There is a chance that some folks will fail to respond. There is also a very slim chance that the manufacturer will find another box in his shop (there are 256 in a box). If that happens, I may consider re-opening the gel-holder give away.

You are very generous. I would have tossed the stampless envelopes and made the holders available to somebody who was smart enough to know what a self-addressed stamped envelope is. Good karma for you!
