Am wondering what species this is ...some sort of Plover maybe?....if anyone can help I will be grateful.

Sandpipers are one of the hardest birds to identify, at least for me they are. There are so many of them that look alike. I typed in "sandpipers of Ireland" into google images, and even with all the ones that came up, I still couldn't pick out the sandpiper it might possibly be. There's a couple of good possibilities though. Maybe someone will be along before long with an ID of who this little guy is..

It's a Plover, Grey or Golden.

Maybe a Plover, but it's hard to be 100% certain.

No, it's absolutely a Plover for sure. It may be a Grey Plover or it may be a Golden Plover, that's the not part where it's hard to be 100% certain. If I had to guess based on this one photo, I'd say Grey Plover.

I reckon its a grey plover , they are slightly plumper than the golden plover but they look identical in theyre winter plumage , nice shot though .
