How much is the effing ticket? Honestly, if it were me I would just pay the damn thing. it would be a complete waste of my time, which of course equals money.

When I was younger, someone gave me this advice. And I made the mistake of taking it.

This is a moving violation. It will add points to your license which will increase your insurance costs. The points may come off in 18 months, but you insurance will not go back down.

I would not do it.

That's why I said "if it were me".

The time and effort it would take to fight this would just not be worth it for me even if considering points and insurance.

Of course this depends on the individual situation and how much of a crusader you want to be. Ain't nothing wring with that...

Turn the power on, set the aperture, shutter speed, ISO and press on the shutter button. Rinse and repeat.

If the points are already racking up against you then I would sure as hell go through the effort. Worth the time to avoid the insurance rate going up.

No, no, no....there is no point penalty or raise in insurance cost. The reason is that the citation wasn't issued by a police officer at the time of the violation. Is only $65. If my money situation is improving next year, I "may" just let this one go. If not, I just go through the motion since I visit my niece in LI once a week anyway.

Need a car repair shop recommendation. My Nissan needs the front struts replaced. I just called the Nissan dealer, they are charging me $675 (parts and labor). I looked at Sears and it appears they only charge about $110 each for the part and installation.

The nearest one that could perform the repair is in the Bronx. Kind of strange since the other Sears Auto have the struts in stock. The Nissan dealer is only 5 minutes drive from me. I think I need to call Sears up and to verify few things.

That kinda sucks.

I have a neighborhood mechanic I've been going for the last 20+ years. I buy parts online for cheap and have the guy do the work. Anything is cheaper than bringing it to the dealership.

And he is cool with that, you bring your own parts and have him installing them?

Yup, but I've known him for 20+ years. He still gets paid labor, and that's usually how they make money anyways so.

I buy tires from TireRack, have them shipped to him, then have him install the tires. No problem.

if you need a car shop, my parents own a auto repair shop in brooklyn.
