Just picked mine up for 1875. Others on site at the time were 2000 to 2500. Craiglist had one for 1800 as well.

$2,500 is overpriced. You can get them a lot cheaper.

As for a 1D MIII versus a 5D Mark II, they are completely different cameras. It would be very hard for any of us to make a sound recommendation without a more in-depth explanation of what you need in a camera.

Bought my mk3 for $1850 last week. As stated, they still get around $2200 here also depending on usage and condition.

Search the B&S on here for an idea of what things should cost...2500 is way too much for a 1D3.

Not to be funny, but he is looking at a "new" one, which I would assume means never used PERIOD. Seems to me like $2500 for a new one would be inline with $1800-2200 for a used one.

Again, assuming it is truly new.

Yes he claims it is new the only time was out of box was when it was sent back to canon for focus fix and software upgrades . So 2500.00 for brand is not to bad?

why would he get the focus fix if he had never taken it out of the box before then?
I'd pass on this "deal". Why pay $500-$700 MORE for a not-used camera when you can get a slightly slightly used one for much less?

oooooh I missed that part...hmmm...if he can guarantee 0 shutter actuations, it might be worth it, if you're the kind of guy who likes brand new things...

Or you can look for a creampuff haha...that's what I did, got my never-abused, always babied 1D3 for a killer price...after searching for 6 months...never looked back!
