Wooden Bridge

This was taken back in May 2007, three months after I decided to get serious about photography. I'd bought a Casio compact camera and found that it didn't give me enough creative options so I bought a Canon S3is bridge camera, which I used for this shot.

It got filed under 'not good enough', partly because I didn't have any decent post-processing software back then but mostly because I just didn't know what I was doing. When I found it again recently I ran it through Lightroom (minor tonal adjustments), Topaz Adjust (detail and colour adjustments), and Elements 10 (dodging and burning), and this is the result.

I like it, it reminds me of a peaceful summer day. The leaves/branches are distracting though.

As a rule I'm not opposed to things criss-crossing the subject. But those leaves hanging down feel really close...

OK, thanks. For me, those leaves are one of the features that give the picture some depth. But it's great to get a different take on things.
