Just got my "used" (looks like new) eBay Hadley Digital in black/black. It fits the 5D-II with 24-105L perfectly. Also has room under the L-Dividers for the charger, extra battery, and a tiny 270EX fill flash. Will work great for when all I want to take is the basic camera/lens!

It even makes my Hadley Small look big in comparison.

That's great Howard! It is an incredible little bag. Wish I had one in Cape Cod. i really like mine.
I shall buy a larger Billy bag. But not right away. some days I need to carry a little bit more.
Paid $160 or so for my Digital. I am glad you found a good one!

FWIW, I like the quality of the Billinghams, and truly like the closure strap. It is genious!

I like my Domke bags too.
However, I don't really like the snap fastener that Domke uses on the strap, and I am paranoid about the flap opening not being closed properly to keep the weather out...And Domke's cost so much at Henry's!

Billingham and Domle cost about the same here, for the smaller bags anyway.

Sweet! Congratulations on finding that.

I resolved to buy a B. Hadley Digital when I was in Cape Cod last May. I brought the wrong bag to carry my travel rig: D300S, grip and 18-200 VR, with Black Rapid strap. Challenges? Long walks. About 15-20 miles a day. Rain and blowing sand. Sunshine too!
The Digital is perfect, as long as I keep my lens lust in check.
Howard, it will be a great bag. And it is so easy to carry.
Wish UpStrap made a pad I could slide onthe strap. (I don't havea Billy pad; I don't know if they have enough stiction to stay on my shoulder.

Have you looked at a Domke Postmans pad? A bit bulky, but very comfortable.

Randy thanks. I have a Domke Postal Pad that I alternate between my Hadley Digital and my Maxpedition Colossus.

Sad story--I was rushing going to work with a full messenger work bag, and my Digital with dslr inside. Hung from my right shoulder. Dropped it. Weatherproof jacket has a Teflon coating. It hit, and smashed the filter on my 18-200 lens. Could have been a lot worse! Lens is ok and sharp. In 40 years of photography, including many working my photo business, I had never done that.

Considering my old habits,a pad on the Billy is essential. I am using an UpStrap on my Nikon. The pad on it is incredible. A Tamrac suede strap I have is incredible.

I would also like to see your internal arrangement in the bag, and which superflex inserts you used to accommodate the lenses.

That is an impressive amount of gear to carry in one small bag! How much does it all weigh?

I'm curious about this as well, do I need to order one of the larger superflex inserts for my 70-200?

Will get some shots up soon, but essentially I have both the inserts that came with the bag at one end. The 50mm and 18-35 sit on top of each other in the bigger pocket of the smaller super flex insert, in the other one is the SB900.

In the bigger super flex I have the 28-70 and the SB600..

The body sits in the bag opposite, and the 80-200 next to it standing up with the hood reversed, I have an optech strap so this and a small bag insert (tamrac) protects the body and lens from each other.

Don't normally take everything with me, but for a wedding it has coped well.

You may be able to position the 2 standard inserts such that your 70-200 is in the remaining space. Otherwise, probably need a 12-21 Superflex for the f/2.8.

There is a real art to figuring out how to best utilize the Superflex inserts ... even to the point of cutting the smaller end off and using 2 side by side for smaller lenses. There have been some threads regarding this here on POTN. I find the actual internal dimensions of my Billy 207 to be slightly larger than the published specs, so certain side-by-side inserts will fit even though the numbers say they won't.
