Wait, the D4 outdoes the 1Dx how? Because people won't be able to put a 2x TC on their 600 f4 or something? I don't know how many sports photogs or photojournalists that use a 2x on a f4 super telephoto. The 1Dx has more resolution and more speed. I fail to see how the D4 outdoes the 1Dx. I would give them a wash as best.

Exactly. They are sent out with one of the office's 600 or 800 if that's the need for the assignment. And no problem

All I want it a FF camera with a good AF system (7D or better) and high ISO capability for a reasonable price ($3k or less). I don't think that is unreasonable to ask. If they blow the 5d III the only option I have is a 1dx, which I can't afford OR hoping that the 1ds III comes down in price significantly (but it's native ISO quite up to par).

bw!If they "blow the 5DMKIII", the only hope I have for Canon is a 1DXs.

Kinda makes me wanna stop buying all other Canon gear with anticipation of selling everything & going to Nikon. I dont too much care for the cat & mouse games Canon plays in marketing. Just give us what we want already & put a freakin' price on it Canon!!!!!!!!

Exactly what I've been doing :). Only 7D, 3 lenses + 580 EX II to go :). I'm going to miss the 7D but hey D400 is coming :).

Hey! Ive done the same. 7D 3 lenses and 580 ex. Nothing else. Was able to get a good deal on a Tokina a few years ago from someone here ;)

Im looking forward to what Nikon brings to the market. I doubt the D4 would come in priced lower than 1D X (But it doesnt mean im not hopeful). I expect it to have better performance and DR than the 1D X. Nikon has shown it just knows how to build great bodies. All they need to keep doing is expanding their lens selection. Cant wait to see what the D700 successor looks like! :)

You should send a D800 as Xmas present for that the guy that has sold you that Tokina :).

Yeah D800 vs 5D III, 1Dx vs D4 matchups.

A 36MP D800 with full pro-body features, with the simultaneous announcement of a line of Nikon tilt-shift lenses to rival the Canon lineup, would pretty much kill off Canon in the landscape/studio segment of the market.

This would be true... if pro-AF was a necessary feature for landscape/studio. :D

Or if you want versatility to shoot sports as well with the extra MP allowing for cropping :)

If Canon were to put in the "old" 45 point AF system in the 5d III I would soil myself, and then pre-order it!

D4 sounds pretty sweet, D800 not so much IMO

Intriguing. What's up w/ the vertical bands @ iso500 and no longer present at other iso samples? I wonder what's going on there. 6400 seems clean but lots of details lost.

Looks like they're trying to match up the banding with the 5D MK II.:p:lol:
