Just bought mint conditioned 5Dc today, so stoked about it! I had hard time deciding which camera to get so I've been checking out this site for a while now. I ended up with this camera and couldn't be happier so far! One thing that confuses me is the screen. So many people have said that its piece of s*it, but I don't see any remarkable difference to 40D for example. Of course its smaller but i can still easily check whether photo is OOF or stuff like that. Or is it because its newer than the 2006 models, because my serial number starts with 28xxxxxxx? But yeah, going to be posting some photos soon, stay tuned! :D

Might be, most folks say that the screen is better compared to the original batch. Mine starts in 2XXX as well so you have an 07 model. Congrats! Looking forward to seeing your images. I might upgrade to the 5DII next month or so if I have enough cash and possibly keep my 5D as a backup or learning tool for my gf or sell it.

Hey Srika, any tips to help shoot in low light in club situations like yours? I attend alot of EDM shows and i see that you shot Armin and Menno lately and was hoping for some tips/ what settings to be in. I do usually shoot in M mode.

yeah, I'm always in M. I usually shoot at ISO 800-1000 (apply NR in LR), shutter around 20-60 or so depending on light obviously, sometimes as slow as 1/4 (or even slower like 2 sec if doing light trails). another huge factor is the flash, you really have to just play with it and experiment until you get the look you want.

oh yeah I notice you have a good selection of fast glass, I used to have a field day with my 50 1.4, would usually shoot it around 1.8 or 2.0 and really great color from that combo. On the 24-70 I'm usually at 2.8 the whole night.

Do y'all have any samples you can post up for me of portrait shots on the 5d using with a 50 1.2 , 35 1.4 and 25-70 2.8? My ol lady is getting me one for Christmas and told me I need to make a decision! Lol. Low light ability is key for me, so I may not be able to go with the 24-70 2.8 although the idea of having the 35 to 50 in one set, even though I know primes are sharper. But like I said low light is key, so show me or link me if y'all have any. And thanks!

Went to Autin, TX last weekend for a photowalk and took the following pictures.

This first one I was trying to re-create a shot that Trey Ratcliffe had done before. Added a touch of HDR to the image. It is the Texas State Capital. Shot with my 17-40

IMAGE: http://www.mrbillphotography.com/Travel/Texas/Austin/i-cTHMvJT/0/L/State-Capitol-hdr-L.jpg

The second one is of a statue of Stevie Ray Vaughn with the Austin skyline in the background. Shot using the 24-105.

Finally another shot of the Capital the next morning. Shot with my 24-105
