^^great shots Mike! I wish we had snow in our area, it's been an unseasonably warm December. Lots of rain and short days I just put the camera in the bag...

Here in Colorado, unless you're in the mountains, winter is just the "brown season". It's always been hard for me to find inspiration in winter. That said, my sister's husband plays in a band and they are doing the annual holiday party at a local watering hole tonight, so I'm taking my 430 EX II and my 10-22 and 17-55 with me to see what I can get for them to put on their Facebook page. :D

I have on occasion made the trek to take advantage of real cold slumps:

Oh trust me, I do know that. I'm going to shoot an indoor track meet tomorrow at high ISO. I just recieved Lightroom 3 and I want to play with it. The majority of the shooting I do is sports related. I want to dabble in other areas.

Get the free trial to lynda.com and do the LR3 basic training with Chris Orwig. That should keep you busy.

Practice shooting tethered with LR3.

Do some product photography, see if you can make it work with that window. Natural light is great for food photos.

It's Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge! Anytime the temp here in the Portland area falls into the teens, you know that the Falls will ice up to some degree!

The bridge is a walkway for sightseers and for those hiking up the trail that goes all the way to the top of the falls, where you can connect to the John Muir Trail which goes, well, a long way...

I'm sure it would look nice in B&W, although I don't have a B&W "process" in my workflow:)! I have a bunch of shots from this and another cold-weather run out there, so at some point I may play around with it:)!

I figured it would have a nice range between the blacks and whites.
