Get the free trial to lynda.com and do the LR3 basic training with Chris Orwig. That should keep you busy.

Practice shooting tethered with LR3.

Do some product photography, see if you can make it work with that window. Natural light is great for food photos.

Try still life and macro. You don't need fancy or any lighting. Just use window light and a tripod, MLU, timer, tripod.

Exactly. I'm working on photographing the Christmas tree, and just for laughs, I doing a macro series using playing cards and poker chips.
