Fix the auto white balance under artificial light, its dreadful.

^ I agree with him. all my shots under artifical light... well suck. I have to stick with custom white balance a lot to get it right. It's inconvenient.

Then shoot RAW with a preset WB, then fix in PP

Not really the same shape, the 1D is completely different from the 5D which is slightly different from the 50D and so forth

For me to have a remote LCD that clips off the back to be hand held, LV, and can trigger and focus the shutter. just be some convenient for shooting low down, and above your head.

Ohh another one, sort of linked to cameras - a built in radio wireless setup with the pro grade flash units (lower grade ones as well would be fantastic). I dislike the idea of having to shell out £100s for a flash and then yet more £100s just to be able to wirelessly control it.

I'd also really like some improved remote controls - esp considering the price canon puts on them for what is simply a shutter button on a cable. I'd love to see them expand with mode control, settings adjustment and suchlike for those situations where you want to be able to vary the settings without having to physically touch the camera and without having to have a massive laptop to lug around with you as well.

Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too

Stop increasing megapixels and focus on low noise at super high ISO.

Build a no-frills, image-quality only camera for those of us who know how to focus, don't care about video, and only need 10mp or so because we're not printing billboards.

Also - wb? Really? I at least experiment with changing it in post for every single shot I take.

Some of mine, many already mentioned:

- hoods with lenses
- user definable exposure bracketing (up to 7 each way, with definable ranges)
- intervalometer built in (it's just software)
- inbuilt gps logging
- inbuilt radio triggering both for ETTL wireless flash & remote shutter
- better gui/ergonomics for interface (take a leaf from the iPhone)
- better movie performance in terms of aliasing, compression types etc
- inbuilt wifi for delivering pics & camera control
- better movie controls (see MagicLantern)
- 60fps+ at full 1080p
- get Apple onboard to redesign "The Camera Strap" and try and come up with something new that doesn't annoy me however I hold the camera
- let third-party developers be able to create small apps for the camera - for instance, you install a third-party app with gives you a new screen of options and developers can take control of the hardware to let the camera do things Canon don't want to implement
- and the obligatory better low-light sensitivity

7D, 450D | 17-55, 10-22, 55-250, 50 1.8, 580EXII | YN568II | YN622 x3 | Magic Lantern | (Still) Jonesing for a 70-200 2.8...
Turns out a gripped 7D + 622 + 580exII + 70-200 2.8 IS MK2 is BLOODY HEAVY! Who knew?!!

I would like to tell canon to stop crippling cameras features in order to attract sales of the next model up. Firmware updates should include new features and not only bug fixes.
the 60D to get a firmware update that will give it the lens MA feature it deserves. I would also like to see an viewfinder eye cap that properly blocks out the sun

Copy the buttons from the top of their SLRs to the right side of the camera that turns into the "top" when used in portrait orientation and a vertical grip. It is pointless to have a vertical grip but no access to an ISO or FEC button. You have to move your hand, take your camera from your face, to hit the appropriate buttons then resume shooting. And have said copied buttons turned on and off by a weight compensator so the camera knows when it's being held vertically - turn those buttons on. Used horizontally - turn those copied buttons off. It can't get simpler than that!

Firstly, get away from the silly trend to viewfinder-less P&S cameras. Particularly in the midrange - where cameras cost several hundred dollars here in Sydney - and for most of the year there's a lot of "glare" from LCDs...

But even the best P&S optical viewfinder is at best 85% coverage and more on average about 70% while the LCD is 100% view. LCDs just need to improve. Cameras are going the way of the LCD and there is no changing that trend. Look for a better way forward, don't go backwards.
