Don't live near an urban center?
Love fragment photographs?
Good thing you stopped by then!

Since moving away from an urban area I can no longer contribute regularly to the Urban Fragment Thread. Yet I still love this style of photography, so I'm taking it to the streets -- the streets of small towns.

Please contribute your small town pieces, how you view where you live or where you travel. There are no strict rules, it's fun to see individual interpretations. Share information about the location, or don't. Share a story of how you got there, or don't. All I ask is that you share your small pieces of small towns. Thank you!

I'll begin with a few from two local towns in Central Texas.

Bartlett. It was the perfect cloudy day for black and white.

Granger. This is a beautiful, old clock that hangs in front of the bank.

Granger. Old pianos simply sitting on the sidewalk; I felt as if I won the photographic lottery.

Tony -- That's some amazing PP you did to get rid of the grey sky and rain!

Great contributions so far, I think we may have something here with our small towns.

Here are few from my Washington days, Centralia.

Heh! Yeah, I think it was late at night when I saw this thread and grabbed and posted that shot -- I'll need to go back to the drawing board and get some true "fragments":)!

Well, believe it or not it actually was a sunny wintery afternoon:)!

Marlene, cool idea and it goes along well with the thread I started a bit ago on "Urban-Suburban" photos:

https://photography-on-the.net …125555&highlight=suburban

Anyway, here's a couple "fragments" from my small town:

The suburban idea is great! Most of us (I think) live in suburbia and don't stop to notice the beauty hidden between the strip malls and cookie-cutter houses. It's nice to show people that it can be interesting if you change your point of view. I can and will certainly contribute to that one as well.

Cool!

Another thread that has been active is the Biking Photog Thread, which I started after a beloved family member wrecked my car last summer. Getting out on a bicycle definitely changes your view of your surroundings!
