Wowzers! I was lucky enough that my purchase didn't time out; purchased this for $1,099.

Ended up getting one at B&H after being just a bit too late for Amazon.

Purely conjecture, but I wouldn't be shocked, since speculation is that a 35L mk II and 24-70L mk II are due to be announced 1st week Jan 2012.

Not to mention 5dmk3.:D

I'm willing to make a ridiculous bet that the 5Diii isn't announced 1st week January. We'd be lucky to have it available by Photokina 2012 (but CanonRumors is all abuzz about lens refreshes in 2012, including a couple of announcements around 1/3/12)

35l still $1255 at bh .. where did you guys saw the $1099 at bh ?

Yeah, it was only marked down for only about an hour or so. Amazon went OOS around 1015/1030 ish EST. Don't think it was known B&H matched it till close to 11.

Anyone contact Adorama and successfully get their 16-35 PM'd? I emailed Adorama but haven't heard back yet. Mine is still en route, so I'm considering just ordering from Amazon and rejecting the Adorama shipment. Would that work?

For BH customers. How can you track the refunded difference?

It will show as refund to your credit card (or whatever you used to pay) in a few days.

I'm interested in success stories as well. Mine was delivered last week, so I'm very much interested in getting the price adjusted.

Also, it looks like someone on Slickdeals said Adorama is price matching on the now-OOS 35L. So maybe they'll do the same for the 16-35 ....?

I ended up with the same guy in live chat. He said he was going to contact me later today.

I'm a bit frustrated by this whole exchange. I wasn't able to cancel my Amazon order. So I'm going to refuse that shipment on Wednesday. If, however, someone wants it, shoot me a PM. Not willing to do PP gift, but if you cover costs you can have it for around $1160 still.

It was discounted for a very short period of time this morning.

So glad I chatted when I did. It pays to check this place

Yeah, I have to imagine it was only while Amazon had them in stock and was selling at that price.

I thought they started doing it at 11, must have just lasted for like half an hour

FWIW to all the Adorama folks, Helen just replied and said they are in the process of updating their price.
