I would personally take this S95 over the LX5 any day ;)

And I'd go the other way! Luckily Amazon has had smokin deals on both this holiday season!

Best,

The LX5 is a very capable camera...when it's around. It's protruding lens made it a burden to bring and often stayed at home.

I just went back and forth between the S95 and the SX230, decided to go with the 230 yesterday since it was going to be for the fiancee and she just needs a P&S. I would have returned it had I made it in on this deal. Of all the days for work to be busy!

My wife would prefer the SX230 to the S95 since she is all auto mode, so I wouldn't sweat it. She hated our S90 because it seemed too complicated with all the manual settings, etc.

Great price on a fine cam. Unfortunately, 0.9 FPS and 28mm doesn't cut it for me.

I'm diggin' the FZ-150 bridge cam though.

Yeah, I wish it was a little faster in burst mode... but I got one anyway. :D It will be a nice upgrade to my A720.

Sounds like it is a decent option - maybe next year the S100 will be on sale (or in stock for that matter) and it promises a wider lens and faster frame rate. The S95 should earn its keep till then ;)

Dang... This makes me feel bad. I paid $369 for my S95 back when it came out and THAT was a good deal! Now with the S100 being such a "let down" this is a heck of a deal to jump on!

Looks like I missed the deal. I'll have to keep checking.

yeah, the S95 would have been more for when I use it.

Darn I missed out. I've been looking for a new P&S that has RAW file compatibility.
