Congrats! Though I would not recommend you putting your lens upright like that without a lens cover, even though it's a soft surface  glass that is flush with the mount isn't fun at all man.

yeah I just did it for a couple of photos. I made sure there was nothing underneath the lens before i put it down.

It's even got a red ring so it must be good!

Here's some random person's 70-200. Was doing an ISO test with my old XSi...

haha Kiwi I'll take it for 1/3rd the price of the 35L, 1 aspherical element with 2 ultra-low refractive elements, great optics, just manual focus and aperture, which honestly has been quite refreshing so far... no worry about front or back focus or that there is something wrong with the lens, if I miss a shot its on me!

wow I knew the lens looked big, but that's BIG for a 35mm. I really like that they included a DOF scale, that's a nice thing to have on a manual focus lens.

I'm quite happy with my 35L, but if I had to give it up for financial reasons I would certainly give this lens a close look.

I'd love to see some samples!

I'll PM you some of my first shots from today, can't wait to get this thing out on a fashion shoot, while I would like AF, it has been quite refreshing with a full manual lens, its challenging but a blast for sure

SMC Pentax AF Zoom 35-70mm 2.8 by Asahi. One of the first commercially available 35mm SLR lenses that supports Auto Focus. Released in the early 80s.

That is awesome. Wasn't it an FD lens that was the first? How does it perform AF wise?
