OK, one of my favorite conversions.

Starting point was a thowaway shot, finishing point won first place in competion, and sold for $600.

Not too shabby.

How is it that I get hollered at to move, when picking folks up from the Planetarium, and you're able to park on the sidewalk there?

Nonetheless, good attempt at recovering the antennae atop the Sears Tower, but they're a little bit taller than that ;)

There is some good stuff on this thread.

I have a question...where do you guys learn your techniques? Do you take classes, trial and error, or just shooting in the dark? Every time I sit down to try and edit pictures I don't even know where to begin, it is overwhelming. Thanks.

Ya im with Niccas9, I havnt used PhotoShop in oh... 7+ years so iv pretty much forgotten everything. What function do you use to boost the color across the whole picture? Or add the amazing lighting effects to the sky?

I will also take links to said explanations :)

BTW: Amazing shots in here, hoping I can mooch enough knowledge off you guys to take some of my own.

Get some books on Photoshop! Then, sign in to a place like Lynda.com or KelbyTraining.com for some comprehensive lessons, then you can keep going by finding Web tutorials and such.

Also, yes, people do go for college-level classes on Photoshop to get their feet wet!

EXCELLENT rescue. From the final version, I would have never guessed you retrieved that much. Tell me, when you added the warmth to the sky you took away the context for the shirt to be so cool. Did you ever try adding some warmth to the shirt as well?

Don't know if I would go so far as to say that, but if you are complimenting my shot/edit, then thank you.
