I ALWAYS ask Santa (wife & kids) for a gift certificate to Adorama but my wife says that isn't personal enough so I always get stuff I didn't want. have no use for and usually have to bring back.

This year, I asked for NOTHING! It'll probably be the first year I get what I've asked for!

Why is it that wives love to do that to their husbands....and yet...

This is truly the humor I get at Christmas.

Here's the list I gave my wife:
- 2-3 new white long sleeve DU t-shirts
- Under Armour fleece beanie
- GC to B&H for any amount you choose

What I will get:
- 2-3 new long sleeve tshirts
- not sure on the beanie as she said she couldn't find it despite my giving her the exact location and price of said product
- Something not on the list that she thinks is really cool that I'll look at and go "This is great!" while thinking "WTF?"

For comparison, here's her list:
- LED lights under our cabinet installed and working
- Backsplash behind the stove
- 1 time professional house cleaning
- Chocolate lab slippers form LL Bean
- New beds for our labs
- North Face Jacket

Here's what she is getting:
- LED light under our cabinets professionally installed (arranged by me)
- Backsplash for the stove installed (by me)
- 1 time professional house cleaning (completely arranged by me)
- Slippers sold out in 2 weeks in August so she's getting some LL Bean chocolate lab flip flops
- 2 new Tempurpedic dog beds from Orvis
- North Face jacket
...//...

...this is how it always seems to work out for wives from husbands?!

"Whatever you do, enjoy yourself...otherwise, what's the point."

Peace on Earth and goodwill towards men.....and.. if you want to send me a 300 f/2.8 that would be nice, too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

huntersdad, you're going to be on the couch for weeks for getting flip flops instead of slippers..

Meh we like to let women think we hate the couch, but in all reality we love it. It's like camping. We just watch T.V., play video games, or browse POTN all night. And we don't have to listen to them nag or sigh loudly to get our attention so we can ask "What's wrong honey?" And if my wife is reading this... I might have to sleep in the bedroom tonight...

It would be nice for everyone to start paying it forward ... even if only a little bit.

This thread makes me want to go out & give the poorest person I can find something to warm them up or put a smile on their face.

Thanks ... and Merry Christmas to everyone! :)

On a side note about paying it forward. This is what I do. When people ask me what I want I always ask for things like little kids toys, blankets, coats, etc... Then when I get them I give the away to the less fortunate. This way not only am I giving from my pocket but indirectly others around me are as well. Of course I tell my friends my intentions so they don't get offended I'm regifting their gifts. Although to be honest they all think it's a great idea and it's spreading through our ranks.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanuka, Happy Kwanza, and everything else out there everyone.
