It's a not a big deal although my last flight they had to take my bag aside for too many electronics or something. Never heard of that before but we did get a convo about what I do and if I'm a professional or not. Made me laugh and smile. :D

TSA, I don't have problems with them usually but there is one thing I'd like. If I have endure the groping, please don't try to have a conversation with me. There's just something slightly awkward about a middle aged man checking my waistband while asking me how I am and how about this weather... Just grope me and let me move on.

That small talk is their way of coming on to you. If you show interest, it's into the booth for some pre-flight fun.

Shouldn't the TSA really give passengers the option of the gender of the agent who is going to check you? After all, as a staunchly devout heterosexual, I know that I would be far less uncomfortable about a lady checking my waistband while bantering about the weather!

I hear ya, I've got that heterosexual thing going on too.

Show up in drag, you have a good change to get the "female" agent. I don't know how many of these agents you've seen, but let me gently suggest the grass might not be greener on the other side of the fence for this one...at least until gender testing has been done on them. When the "female" agent with the mustache starts groping you, report back on how it went.

I just put my backpack or Pelican on the belt and they take it through. They always open it, though. And always confiscate my Rocket Blower.

You REALLY don't want to know where that rocket blower ends up on their breaks.;)

Why take the rocket blower?

What if you cut the little rocket wings off it?

Seems like a strange thing to take.

I've never had mine taken, my guess is someone at TSA has a fetish that is best not discussed here.

If i can get through Logan with my gear, you are all set....

When i bring my Elinchrom Quadra on the plane, it's always fun to watch the X-Ray person's reaction when they see it on the screen. Their eyes light up. It literally looks like a bomb. A large battery pack, with a bunch of wires hanging out of it and a cap.

I go with reflectors, battery packs and a full case of my lenses and bodies. Trust me, you are all set.

Elinchrom Quadra batteries are fun. Almost always good start for the security check. :D

Jackson Hole Wyoming is the best airport security experience that I have ever had.

Why? It's not TSA, it's a private security company.

I wish more airports went this route. I would guess that a private company would be cheaper than a government agency.

I thought there was a limit to the batteries you were able to bring on a plane. I am surprised then let the Quadra's on.

I should have mentioned that my experience is not with TSA (don't live in the US), but with Eurostar security checks.
