I'm considering a 1D Mark III for shooting wildlife as an amatuer. I currently use a 5D Mark II.

Can anyone comment on the AF performance of this combination? For wildlife, in average and good light. At f8 I understand that only center point works on the 1D, which is ok as I'm used to being restricted to center point.

I also shoot in a dark wood and sometimes have to use ISO 6400 which can be cleaned up acceptably on the 5D2 as long as I dont also crop. How does the 1D Mark IIIs ISO performance compare to the 5D2 and the 7D?

FS: UK: 1D Mark IV.

You abound be ok.
Many people use this combo
Also the 1d3 is a aps h sensor so cropping should be very minimal.
Enjoy it.
