Just to let you all know I have just received my latest digital copy of Outdoor Photographer and the 1DX has definitely replaced the two models I have mentioned in my title. I quote.....

"Scheduled for a Spring 2012 realease, the EOS-1DX replaces the EOS 1DS MKIII & the EOS 1D MK IV. This new flagship DSLR is one of the most anticipated cameras ever, and it's feature sets looks impressive, to say the least."

So for those of you expecting upgrades for these models.......sorry but it's all over.

Until they announce the 5D3. Then it will be the 1D5... then the 5D4. Rinse and repeat adnausium.

I'm pretty sure the Canon announcements made that clear when they talk about the 1Dx.

Don't let them give you a hard time. I think it's further evidence and am interested that you read that there.

Seems like this OP likes stoking up rumours about cameras

Seems like you should just forget about posting in this thread if you are not interested in it. We have about 8 5D MKIII threads and double and triple threads about a supposed new model 1DS MKIII and 1D MKIV.

I have not read or heard of the 1DX replacing these models officially until now, that's why I posted it and for other forum users.......

So if you don't like it..........

1DX not replacing the previous 1D/s? I thought the releasing the 1D-X was to replace the previous range of cameras, its logical

So what does this mean then, this is the exact words quoted from the magazine...

"Scheduled for a Spring 2012 realease, the EOS-1DX replaces the EOS 1DS MKIII & the EOS 1D MK IV. This new flagship DSLR is one of the most anticipated cameras ever, and it's feature sets looks impressive, to say the least."

Please note this is copy from a magazine article, and not Canon's official statment. But far be it from me to rain on a perfectly good rumor parade.
