Hello everyone, I went down to Norfolk Va. today to some beautiful gardens there in search of Duanes Eagles. I found the nest and met a bunch of nice folks but alas, no Eagles. I did get some of the other locals there. These are I admit a tad underexposed but I thought they were different anyhow. Pretty close action, this was all in a little boat station they have there, this guy was coming in chasing the other Great Egret off all the while a big ol Blue kinda watched the whole business.

Some post production to clean up the exposure balance and you will have some great images. You captured the right image, now just play with the "chemicals" in the "dark room" to bring out the details.... or is that lightroom.

i agree. great, sharp images.
Egrets are so hard to expose properly in bright light.

Sorry I missed you Bret and sorry the Eagles didn't cooperate for you. I got a report the male Eagle was about a mile from you at one of his local hangouts. I think once they start nesting the opportunities will be guaranteed but that's not until mid-January into early February...if they decide to nest at all this year.

I am glad you got to see some of the other wildlife NBG has to offer. This time of year the Egrets will congregate at the boat basin feeding on Gizzard Shad....I like the last one the most. :D

Oh, it's so great to get to a different place sometimes and photograph something else than the usual suspects, isn't it? These are great, Bret.

Thanks everyone, this one came right up a little canal, I exposed on the Egret and when it got close, all the background turned pretty dark but the Egret was still in the sun. I saw it and thought they might work so I kept on, these are the only 4 that turned out such as they are.
Thanks again
