Went into a shop today to check out the 60D. Reading a lot about the 60D and the 7D. While I could afford the 7D it seems a little over kill for my needs. The 60D also a little lighter for taking on hikes. I was offered around 200 bucks for my XTi. Told then no thank you. At that number I will keep as back up. For those of you that purchased 60D...any regets?

No regrets, no urge to upgrade to 7D. My next body is likely to be a 5D2 or 5D3 added to the 60D, not replacing it.

If you need that articulating screen, the 60d is definitely worth it. I just recently got a 7D to replace my T2i, but I will be getting a 60D to compliment my video needs. I need that manual agc (+ magic lantern) and articulating screen.

You might want that rugged body with the 7d if you're doing hikes? But anyhow, I don't think you can go wrong with the 60D. Good luck with your future decision.

9 months of 60D and absolutely no regrets of getting this excellent body.
I had pretty much the same story: My 400D (XTi) was getting old, didn't want to sell it though, but the 7D cost too much, opted for the 60, and this turned out to be a better choice for me at least.

I've taken my 60D all the way from the Papuan jungles (hot, humid, muddy) to the winter Korean mountains (freezing, arid, somewhat dusty) to my uncle's fish farm (cold, wet, salty) and all that my camera has is a minuscule aesthetic kink on my screen that is actually slowly resolving itself.

Looks like you've got some good glass. They'll make an excellent combination with your new body.

Nope. i didnt really need any of the additional features that the 7D offered. So Ive been completely satisfied with the 60D for what I bought it for.

I really like my 60d and do not plan on getting a 7d.
however If money were no object I would have gotten a 7d. Not because the 60d isnt
nice, because its very nice, but because I do 90+% wildlife/bird photos and the 7d is king of the crop sensors for that.

I do pretty well with the 60 though.
Here are some sample pics from the other day.

I upgraded from my XTi to my 60D the day it was released. After more than a year, I have absolutely no regrets, and not only do I not feel any need for a new camera right now, I'm not even drooling over full frame right now. I'm sure that will come back in time, though. :)

If you decide to get the 60D, be sure to come join us in the 60D Users thread
