For a shallower DOF.
Because my flashes aren't Canons I don't have HSS... so I am limited to 1/250 or slower shutter speed. This would normally give me an aperture of f5.6 or 6.3. The ND filter allows me to go wider.
I was after a specific look that I didn't achieve. I ran out of time for tonight.

My biggest beefs are that
1- I focused on the eye on the dark side of the face
2- I slightly over exposed... Her muzzle is too white IMO
3- I should have gelled the flashes

Live and learn, I'll fix them next time

Your non-Canon flashes can't be dialed down in power? I'm just curious and trying to learn myself.

Yeah they can... down to 1/64th
I believe I had them @ 1/4 in the umbrella and 1/8 for the other.
Basically I just wanted to try using the ND; the camera didn't want to focus with it on so next time I'll just back off on the strobes and see if that works.

Nice composition. Good image. Would that be a Jack Rabbit snow trail?

Very small Yeti.

Why of course....a fur footed Yeti. I never would have seen this proof had you not been out there with camera. Thanks.

Several subspecies exist, including Small Foot and Intermediate Foot. This appears to be Small Foot.
