What non-existent lens would you like to see made?

i'd like to see a Canon 120-300 f2.8 IS version of the sigma 120300 OS. Then combine that with a built in 1.4X TC like the 200-400 concept. That would be my perfect lens.

100-300 f2.8 IS with built in 1.4x TC.

They'd better update their tripod foot to be as comfortable as the Sigma's, though. Otherwise I agree, that sounds like a winner! Too bad it'd be at least double the price of the Sigma, though.

I'd like to see the 35/1.4L updated. I'm thinking about getting one and I dread spending the money only to have a newer one released shortly after I buy.

I would like to see a sub $2k 600mm lens.

But then I couldn't put a 2x on a 600 and get 1200.

I really want to see an updated 100-400L with the latest IS and USM. I'd even be happy with them producing a cheaper version of the rumored 200-400L without the built in 1.4 TC or fixed f4.

Although I don't think anyone would be in trouble if they already have the 800mm extenders and a 1D markIV. It's not like their cameras will stop taking photographs once the 1DX is released. :)

Actually, they would be in trouble, because their cameras would not autofocus. For those shooting wildlife in motion, or action sports (like a lot of the 800mm shooters do), losing AF would be a disaster.
Do you know how shallow DOF is with 800mm + 1.4 extender? Try to manually focus on a little bird hopping around and you might as well pack up and go home. So yes, they would be in trouble.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Exactly.

Which is why Canon needs to bring out a new 1200 f/5.6.**

** - I was half kidding with my original post, the 1200 f/5.6 being such an expensive behemoth. But I know there are quite a number of folks who would benefit greatly from this lens, especially given the 1DX's AF shortcomings.

I misread and thought we were talking about the 500mm f/4. I've seen some great results when people have used x2 extenders with the 500mm and the 1DmarkIV in the bird section of this site.
