Won't go on my 5d so I tried on my 1dmk2 same problem. The cord looks ok to me.

I never used it. Been sitting there for some time. When I look at it the end which goes on the camera looks good. I will check again tonight. Since I sold my mini/flex I have no way to use my off camera 550ex at > 1/200 with my 5d. I just wanted to take some shots with 35L at f1.4 during the evening so thought I could use this cord.

BTW - The regular 3 feet cords that have work fine.

Hmm. Interesting. I was just looking at these last night and wanting to purchase one soon. I would have to assume there is either a short or disconnection in your 5m cable. If the 3-ft cable wasn't working either I would blame either both cables (unlikely) or the camera. However, since one cable works... something has to be wrong with the longer one - that's the logical answer anyway.

Sorry wasn't clear. I can't get the cable on the hot shoe of my two cameras, it is so tight.

Ahh! Now I know what you implied when you said, "Won't go on my 5d " in your original post. I completely glazed over that and assumed you were having problems with the cable functioning.

Sounds to me like the shoe of the cable may have a manufacturing defect... may need to return/exchange, or get out a sanding/trimming device :)

Bobbyz, If you can't get it to work, you might consider getting a cord from OCF Gear. I have one and it works just fine. 33 feet long, the ends are of very good quality, no plastic at all that I see. Just my 2 cents!

Why wouldn't you email Lon if you purchased this cord from him? Sounds like you are not even sure you purchased it from his site. May be unintentional but it seems this post is leading folks to believe his TTL cord does not work. People are reading this and suggesting other sources to purchase from :( That doesn't seem fair. Even if in the rare chance you did get a cord with a bad end Lon would take care of you.

Exactly what I was thinking. Good on ya, Kacey.

PS: My Elinchrom kit should arrive tomorrow. You should expect a BD order from me in the relatively near future ;)

I just recieved a 24 ft E-TTL cable from Flash Zebra today. I tested it on my 60D and it worked perfectly. No problem sliding it on to the camera connector.

I would email or call Lon at Flash Zebra and talk to him about this problem.

I know you know better, but, you are not trying to slide it on backwards are you?

I had a minor issue with one of those I got from flashzebra. Lon sent me a replacement that same day.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to say anything bad about Lon, I have been so happy with flashzebra and well taken care of. I think I got this cord 3-4 years ago, probably never used it. Just got out my bag this weekend and tried for the first time. I am not 100% if I got from flashzebra or not, they all look the same. I did remove the link in my original post.

I'm sure it was unintentional and you were just looking for a solution for the issue you are having. Just didn't want folks second guessing purchasing from a great vender. As a side note, every product I've ever purchased from FZ has had a branded sticker attached on the bag. Even small parts...... Your was basically new in the bag. I'm thinking if it was not branded it likely came from another source.

I have one of Lon's long cords and it works great. Lon has been very helpful when I order anything.

I'm a happy 24' flash zebra ettl cord user. I'm pretty certain the end for the camera has the flash zebra logo on it if it can from Lon. If it doesn't have that logo, you may have an eBay clone or something like that.
