standing up looking through a camera on a tripod for several minutes can put pressure on your back. Is there any type of collapsible chair that one can use just to give you a little bit of support or to prop you up ;while taking pictures.Something like a collapsible bar stool as it would have to be pretty high or has it not been invented yet. Thanks.

How about a three legged stool. I've seen one similar to golf spectators. It looks like a cane when not in use.

Try looking up something called a timpani throne. I'm not sure how collapsable they are, but I think it fits the bill for a tall chair. Like these. (external link)

I use a shorter version of the walkstool for sports photography.
They make several heights.

I picked up a folding stool from Dicks Sporting Goods - it has a back to it, and even a little pocket for bottles - makes days behind a monopod much more comfortable!

drops over my shoulder, or in my lightstand bag and has a cup holder net that takes my Sigg bottle or trash when I'm shooting an event for hours.

I'm a huge Walkstool fan - because I know it's only going to collapse when I want it to collapse. The last straw was when one of those cheaper three-legged portable stool things gave up the ghost, deposting me into a gorse bush with a nastily sharp metal leg having just missed my gentleman's bits!

Check out sporting goods shops for dove hunters stools, usually 3 legs, fold up small and some have a back on them, they have various features and most are in camo which is nice.

Since I started macro photography a few years ago, I have been on a constant look out for a light & compact stool for use in the great outdoors. Went through various types but they didn't last long due to wear and tear; while some is just simply not sturdy enough. Saw a few good people recommending a Walkstool here and I decided to try it out. That was more than 3 weeks ago.
