I'd like the Adjustment Brush to do localised versions of all the other Lightroom editing functions. For example, tonight I was working on a pair of slightly bloodshot eyes. I had to go into Photoshop (Elements in my case) to do the job. I'd like to paint in a selection on which I could adjust saturation of reds. Or add a dual-tone effect. Or change the white balance. Or add a local gradient. Probably a lot too much to ask...

This is something I really want, as well. I needed this to remove red splotches on baby skin. Found a work around of creating a low saturation brush of the color I want the skin to be and it worked fairly well, but would rather be able to reduce specific color values with adjustment brushes.

We'll see what's planned for LR4 starting Tuesday.

yes I'm jumping ship soon enough, from Mac to PC - I just threw out all of my "I" products and FCP, Garageband, Aperture et al and installed adobe - I gained 109 gb of space on my macbook!!! that like 2-3 jobs on the road worth of space!!! just going to have to find a nice spec laptop - the problem is there are too many to choose from, with apple that was always easy - there is only one model and you decide the screen... :P

Well, my "books" wish came true; partnership with Blurb. That should allow me to dump Aperture completely, which is nice. Expanded adjustment brushes are also a nice feature.

On the other hand, there's no mention of layers, copying of adjustment brush masks, or RGB curves, which is unfortunate, and means I'll still be tied to Photoshop.

I'll have to take this for a spin.

EDIT: Apparently RGB curves are in there.

RGB curves and local WB adjustment have me pretty excited.

I'm liking the Highlights, Shadows, Whites and Blacks control. tbh, it is better than the Recovery, Fill Light and Blacks where each of them start to the left of the slider. In LR4 it starts in the middle which is much better

The only thing I think is unnecessary is the Map module

MMmmm. Looks to me like a worthwhile upgrade from LR3. Sounds like a worthy investment.

The more granular adjustments to highlights and shadows have me salivating. No more collateral damage in the midtones when adjusting highlights or shadows. The localized WB and noise reduction is pretty sweet too. Video editing is a welcome bonus. Now I don't need to buy another tool just to make minor video adjustments and edits.

Looks like I mostly got my wish. Only problem is I'm still running a dual-core machine with 4 GB RAM and Windows XP...

Having used the beta for a couple of days now, I can see that LR4 is going to be a great update. However, it's going to take me quite a while to get used to the new controls, and to be able to replicate my PP style from LR3 in LR4.

Cant try it yet as I only have my XP laptop with me. Sounds like its awesome, wish it had layers though.
