I have tried to avoid accepting credit cards in the past because of the incurred cost. It looks like that I need to change this because more and more brides and grooms want to pay via credit card.

My question: Do you accept credit cards? If yes, which company do you use? Which type of service/provider should I avoid? Which is the most cost effective provider? What is the easiest way to start this?

Thanks for all you help!

2.75% charge on all transactions... not too horrible, really.

Make it easy for people to give you money. Honestly why would you make it hard?

I do square as well. It is the cheapest way. And very easy to use.

Just add $5 to your session/studio fee to cover the charge if your are that thin on profit. Otherwise it is not enough to worry about.

I have checked it! It sounds great! How do you accept payments over the phone?

You need a smart phone. Square has an app that works with the card reader. Plug the reader into the headphone jack, start app, and slide card, fill out the info, and you are done. The customer gets a receipt in their email. If you forgot the reader, you can still type in the card number by hand.... but Square charges 1% more that way.

Yes, square is great. We've been using it for almost a year already.

Squareup. Simple to use, low cost, works great. Been using the service for about a year.
