Yh I did do a lot to the background: several curves adjustments for different areas (usually on luminosity blending to avoid colour changes), adding in more light to the existing light sources, blurring, hue/saturation adjustments, cloning & running a number of filters.

...and masking everything! :D

A lot of small tweaks sums it up well. The final image was under 700mb (unflattened) which I was grateful for - helped by the fact that the background wasn't a HDR to begin with. My previous one was about 1.5gb :D

Thanks for the info. I really need to start learning that stuff.
I try to keep files under 200 meg as my PC is getting bit slow. I think I need to upgrade to 64bit for more memory and power

Yep, I got sick of my slow pc (Q660, 4gb, Win 7 64), so built my first pc over xmas! :D

i5 2500K, 8gb DDR3 RAM, Win7 64 - CS5 opens in 5 secs (and that's on a normal SATA drive - not SSD), filters run in under 10 secs easy (on 600mb+ files)...I'm very pleased! :D I may upgrade to 16gb RAM when I start doing some video editing.

Wanna build another pc now...if i had money to spare! :D...I think it's awakened the nerd in me.

A Pretty rough and unprofessional work compared to other posts.

- Clicked inside a studio with lights (One main side light + strobe light for the guitar in the second photograph)
- The third photograph is with a diffused butterfly light setup
- Two layers of texture and vignetting effects in Photoshop.
Pretty much it.

Pretty standard automotive editing for me, a lot of curves/levels/hue & saturation/color balance layers as well as some minor clean up, blanking the license plate, and some gradient adding in overlay mode to darken other area's and draw the eye to the car, let me know how I did!!
