Yh I did do a lot to the background: several curves adjustments for different areas (usually on luminosity blending to avoid colour changes), adding in more light to the existing light sources, blurring, hue/saturation adjustments, cloning & running a number of filters.
...and masking everything!
A lot of small tweaks sums it up well. The final image was under 700mb (unflattened) which I was grateful for - helped by the fact that the background wasn't a HDR to begin with. My previous one was about 1.5gb
Thanks for the info. I really need to start learning that stuff.
I try to keep files under 200 meg as my PC is getting bit slow. I think I need to upgrade to 64bit for more memory and power
