Is the 1500 series deep enough for a gripped body?

A gripped body on it's side will fit, but not upright with enough padding for my liking. It is just under 7" deep without any foam.

After another shot, the results with the 1500 case are in the first picture are below. I'm somewhat satisfied with the layout, but I didn't like having to fold the divider to the right of the 17-55. From left to right top to bottom: 1.4x TC, 70-200 f/4 IS, 430 EX ii, 60D with 17-55 mounted, 3 hoods nested, C Pol filters, 10-22. The open space beyond the 17-55 is so I can have the 70-200 mounted in the case, it does fit.

The second picture is the 1450 case as I've been using it for the past 10 months. I can fit the 10-22 lens where the small bottle of ROR is, but I can't fit its lens hood.

Looks great man! Exactly why I have been wanting a 1500 for a while now!

I agree. I think a 1500 is in my future too as soon as I can sell the TT Streetwalker Pro that's sitting on my shelf.

I've been using a 1510 with padded dividers for a while now and sometimes when I'm rolling it on pavement or gravel I feel like it's vibrating so much that it could eventually be damaging equipment. Like the camera mirror or lenses IS or AF. Am I just being over paranoid here? The wheels are plastic and I've thought about replacing them with rubber ones (like the kind you have on rollerblades). The wheels on the thinktank cases are much nicer IIRC.

Yes, I have a 5d mark ii gripped and pro body in mine. Fit just fine.

I just recieved a Explorer 7630 from my father (A friend had one he didn't need and gave him that and a pelican 1600) But it's missing its foam, can you guys point out some good places to find some?

Here's a link to the case itself:

I don't mind cutting foam but i'd like to stack two different layers, any ideas?

Nicely enough I am now the proud owner of 2 Quantum Trios, a Pilot, and 2 Turbo 3 batteries, all to be used for event photography. Now I have to carry it all. I am thinking of a Pelican 1654 with the inserts. Anyone have any experience carting the Quantums around and any other recommendations?

Larry
