A good photographer can take extraordinary photos anywhere, with any camera and any lens while a mediocre one will take mediocre ones everywhere, with every camera and every lens.
Never limit yourself with what others think you should do. Shoot what you find interesting, exactly the way you want to.

I need some help guys/girls, sorry, but no awesome pictures here. I always step it down to f2 and above. :|

I got mine awhile ago, but I never really paid it much attention.

Here's a comparison of two images both taken in my room(low light you can say).
f1.4,1/30 ; f2.8,1/8 ISO160
the one on left is f1.4. subject about 2-3 feet away. mid is f2.8
bottle on far right is taken with a 35mm f1.4 L, moved it a bit closer.

heres 100% crop

Comparing the f1.4 to f2.8 is a huge difference, and comparing it to the L lens, it looks really bad. I've tried manually focusing it, but no luck. I actually believe the focusing is spot on. Have you guys seen this issue? There's no problem with the focusing, it's just not sharp at f1.4. Anyone know the problem?

Thanks.

Jenxin, I've noticed that issue on my Sigma50 and 7D. I settled with it like that for a while and just stopped the lens down to f/2.0 or slower whenever I used it. I finally had some time to play with micro adjusting the lens and I think I've found a micro adjustment that works for me. Adding +5 micro adjustment looks like it fixed the issue. I might have to fine tune it a little more, but I'm feeling a lot more confident using this lens at f/1.4.

2nd, needs microadjusted. Adjust at f/1.4 and the result will be sharper photos at all apertures. At least that was the case with my copy.

it works slightly better on my 7D, but microfocusing makes it worse, but i'm trying to get this to work with my 60D. can you post some unedited crops at 100%?

Thanks.

Pretty subject. Is that astroturf in the back of the car or is this a composite shot?

Lovely shot & great colours!

...maybe if I line the back of my car with grass, I'll get some pretty girls breaking in and lying around in it?
