My only concern is using it for sports and no one in that thread has any sports pictures...very frustrating! >:O

It's not really a "sports" focal length...

I use the iPad for presentations. Easiest way is to create a folder of pictures in my photos and then synch it through iTunes

Good luck in the snow Meg. Seattle's snow even made the NZ national TV news tonight - they say you expecting about the same as a normal winter's dump in one day....

Yep. They kept revising the forecast every few hours, but overall we "officially" don't get snow, and we're never prepared when we do, so there's panic at even the thought of it. Pretty much mass hysteria when they said "up to 14" of snow in Seattle overnight." Luckily it started overnight, so most people just stayed home. We got about 3-4" in downtown, which is a lot for that area, and some of the outer areas got 8-10" of snow. It was insane.

But the short answer is, I walk to work, so it doesn't really matter to me because I have good boots. :D

Got my 60D yesterday, after a couple of frustrating delays. But nonetheless, I have it now. I love, love, love it. I figured out the menus in five minutes, versus the fact I'm still trying to figure out my Nikon's menu. Really don't have any interesting subjects in my apartment, but it snowed last night so I'll trek into the metroparks today after exams and have a ball :)

Congratulations and welcome!

Has anyone found that their 60D body has needed AF adjustment? I thought that it was my new 85mm lens that's been a bit soft but after trying a variety of lenses on my 60D and comparing them to my old T1i, I think the T1i is sharper with all lenses.

I'll have to do more tests but I'm pretty confused so far.

Yep. I had to send my 60d in anyway for a problem with the LCD, so I sent my 24-105 along with it to have it adjusted. My other lenses were fine, and this one was fine on the XTi, it just didn't play nice with the 60D. Whatever Canon Repair did, it's great now.

And as promised, more snow pics! I made it over to the hill on Denny Way this afternoon, which had been closed by DOT and thus turned into a sledding party.

It's not really a "sports" focal length...

It is very much a sports focal length for me on my crop. Great for basketball indoors and if I want to throw it on my back up body and take some wider shots at the rink. Also good for endzone shots for football when the 70-200 is too much on a crop.

17-50 wasn't enough for football, and while the range of the 24-105 is nice, I just need the f/2.8 for basketball.

My only concern is the HSM motor not being fast enough to focus with sports.

I think the HSM is fast enough for sports, the question is its accuracy...
