Turn that nonsense off! I had to disable so many "features" on Lion to go back to how it worked on Snow Leopard. I'm even thinking about reinstalling Snow Leopard.

Anyways, back on topic.

Have you guys ever seen one of these?

It just arrived and it's going to be my tote along point & shoot camera. It's surprisingly well built and that viewfinder is AWESOME.

Don't mind the iPhone shot ;)

Metal body!!! I shot a few rolls with one of those, actually! It was from a friend of mine. Back in the day, I had no camera. :)

My new to me 17-40L, and 40d. I'm still new, I've been at this for about a year. I was able to trade my t1i straight up for the 40d, which I couldn't pass up. I got the 17-40 for a steal at 470$US. I used it today for the first time and I absolutely love the combo!

Welcome aboard Mutegoose.

Do you mind if I ask why there is orange electrical tape all over your camera and on your lens?

It's on the side and bottom to keep it from getting scratched/dinged, and it's on the top to help me sleep better at night after I use it in freezing rain/snow. I know it probably doesn't do much, but it's something my photography teacher did, and something I just started doing. There's also a nice deep scratch on the top of the flash that I wanted to hide. I know the whole thing looks ridiculous, I think so too. I'm not sure that it's something I'll keep. I put a single piece on the lens to off balance the foolish look. Don't judge me :(

Edit: Thanks for the welcoming, I've followed this forum as a lurker for months now, didn't feel confident enough to post. I realized photography has nothing to do with confidence, and we all shoot for our own reasons and purposes!

Yes yes, I know. I think the orange might stay on the bottom, but if I figure out if it even helps with weather sealing, I might put black on the top. For now, the orange stays. Won't lose it!

The X0D's and up are fairly well sealed and can take a bit of rain or snow, although if you don't use the ports or flash a lot some (black) tape over those parts may help a little.

Haha, nah orange is cool with me. Besides, after what I did to my 20D I'm not exactly one to tell people how their cameras should look .

Mostly to stop the paint rubbing off for when they sell it, or if it's just the logos they claim it's to look stealthy.
