I was able to trade my t1i straight up for the 40d, which I couldn't pass up. I got the 17-40 for a steal at 470$US. I used it today for the first time and I absolutely love the combo! MuteGoose Member 181 posts Joined Jan 2012 More info | It's on the side and bottom to keep it from getting scratched/dinged, and it's on the top to help me sleep better at night after I use it in freezing rain/snow. I know it probably doesn't do much, but it's something my photography teacher did, and something I just started doing. There's also a nice deep scratch on the top of the flash that I wanted to hide. I know the whole thing looks ridiculous, I think so too. I'm not sure that it's something I'll keep. I put a single piece on the lens to off balance the foolish look. Besides, after what I did to my 20D I'm not exactly one to tell people how their cameras should look Dooms_day wrote in post #13757419 Ive seen a few people do that florecent tape job on their camera, also people who tape it jet black, still wondering why... Mostly to stop the paint rubbing off for when they sell it, or if it's just the logos they claim it's to look stealthy.
