Very suspicious IMO. For reasons listed in the last couple pages of this thread. As of last week Canon still did not have a production body, don't follow Nikon much these days so don't know the progress of the D4.

I agree, however, I do remember seeing that "Fenchel Janisch" watermark on a previous D4 video (which to my knowledge was legitimate). But I don't know.

Improvement of dynamic range is not really clear on the samples ! let's hope that's Youtube or video conversion which are making the pictures samples looking so poor !

Does anyone have a link to real pictures with a good dynamic range sample ?

I don't have issues but looking at the load doing batches it's obvious the 5D2 file processing is pushing my system. That was my point, I've seen a lot of people here wishing for sensors in the 30-36MP range and I'm not sure how well even the fastet machines will be able to handle such files.

Depends on the machine and the amount of memory channels available. A 2600k chip will do nice with dual channel memory. i990x, a bit better since it's triple channel. I'm using the 3960 Extreme chip at 4.8 Ghz, 32 gigs of ram and OCZ SSD. Switched over to Bibble Pro (Now Corel) and it generates previews at a rate of 11 per second. Lightroom and Phase one were complete dogs at 1 to 3 frames per second, generating previews.

The 11 preview frames per second was with several thousand shots taken from 1Ds Mark 3 and 5D mark II files, full res, raw.

Raw to full jpeg processing was right around .2 seconds per image, full res, 21mp files. Mind you, I batch process several thousand images, sporting events. On my Mac (dual xeon) it would take forever compared to the PC.

For mass storage, Synology DS1511+ array. Average transfer rates are much faster than what Drobo has to offer. Heck, Drobo doesn't even have any specs for transfer rate sustained!
