My first woodpecker! Popped out after work for a bit, unfortunately the light was fading and it was very overcast. ISO was 2000 for each, f6.3, 1/250.

Did a bit of PP to try and reduce the noise, but lost a bit of sharpness.

I've only ever seen one woodpecker EVER, so I was chuffed with this. My summer project was to photograph a woodpecker... Still plan on getting some shots in better light though.

Thanks for looking!

Digging in to an ants nest, I assume...

Good for you, Adam, I can see why you would want to capture one of these guys, he has quite a unique look! Looking forward to more this summer :)

Good spot of a male green Woodpecker. They are very partial to ants.

I'm not sure if being chuffed is good or not. This is a very cool-looking bird! I think they turned out great!

Fanastic Adam!
He is an interesting looking woodpecker and your captures are fine for high ISO. We'll all hope for better light for you on the next go round.
And BTW, at least now you have pictures in case you forget what they look like :) j/k
