Will do!

After contemplating whether to wait for the GT3542LS, I had two Adventography trips come together in February, and I didn't want to go without the new tripod setup!

Pics of the setup once it all comes in.

Yea, always better to have and not need than to need and have not I say :)

Clicked "buy" on my new tripod gear:

GT3541LS

Where did you buy the GT3541LS from?

B+H & Adorma have discontinued the GT3541LS.

Actually it's Gitzo that has discontinued the tripod, however you can still buy them on Amazon USA for $675.00, which is much higher than what they were recently selling for at B&H.

That's where I got mine. Yeah, was a little higher than the 'last' price I saw on B&H or Adorama, but that was before I knew it was to be discontinued (always the case...day late, dollar short).

$675 is still ~$150 below the retail price for the GT3541LS prior to its' discontinued status.

I'm happy with the purchase and that's all that matters. :D (Not if only it would GET here faster, so I could use it, I'd be really really happy. LOL)

I got mine from Amazon. Does look like they do have some third party resellers still showing stock but they hiked the price up of course.

On the Anti Leg Rotation(ALR)...after all the leg locks are released are you guys seeing maybe 1/16 or 1/8 inch play/independent rotation of each leg until each reaches a stop point and then turns no further?

This is on the 2 series. I guess I just assumed there would be no rotation.

Hmmm...Have not looked at that yet.

I will tinker with my GT3541LS in a while and reply again.

Its normal, both my Gitzos do it. Take about the leg and youll see why.

Just an update to this thread.

I've been very happy using the GT2542L. If, in the unlikely event that I use a longer lens than 300mm, I'll just have to get another tripod.

This one for me is a good balance of stability, max height, and carrying weight.

Im glad to hear that. And even if you did, its not like the legs are going to completely fail you, they just arent the best of the best for the longest lenses. But I have gotten great results using my one series with a 400mm lens! It can be done.
