Top 3 best ways to judge the high ISO performance of a flagship DSLR:

1. Chimp
2. Take a cell phone video of Chimping
3. Post a cell phone video of Chimping on Youtube

:D :D

We couldn't keep any of the images since it's a pre-production camera, so we did the best we could :D

Did they say anything about the camera being done with any fixes? :)

All we know is the camera is still two months away, so they are still working on the final firmware.

Seems kind of redundant to me. What would be the reason of hanging on to the 1Ds3? As a backup?

I know it sounds redundant but, if you ever get one in your hands you have to understand the capability of it's sensor. Imho, it recovers shadows better at low ISO and no banding like the 5D II. Also, the camera has paid itself off and selling it would be like getting rid of a good luck charm.:) I'm stuck to the 1Ds III for those reasons and it has elevated my photography to a different level.

I've rented the 1Ds3 several times. I would assume the 1D X will be better. If I wanted a 1D tag team it would be the 1D X and 1D4. That could be a possibility once I can examine RAW images.

As you can see, your combo will definitely fit best for what you like to shoot. I love FF for what it is. It's FF. :) If the 1D X's sensor can give me everything I need in one camera as advertised. Then I would have to reconsider other options. The only way to know is to evaluate the RAWs from the 1D X and see what it's capable of.
