and one of my favorites from several months ago. i think this is the type of photo you want to see cause it's at 1.4 and at MFD where the lens is at its worst but I like how it looks. very dreamy. a fair amount of CA (you can see it on the eye lashes) but nothing worse than the 85L or 1.8. the B&W photo above is also at 1.4 and MFD Retouching

Mandatory first duck shot for good luck: ![]() Assorted test shots.. ![]() ![]() ![]() First impressions: -Significant focus shift -Capable of some truly ugly and some really nice bokeh wide open. Suffers severely from LoCA, but it is significantly reduced by f/2 and almost gone by f/2.8 -Relatively soft wide open, sharp at f/2, very sharp at f/2.8. -As expected very nice colors and contrast Very nice shots Luka, really an outstandin lens. 40D, 50D, Sigma 10-20 F/3.5, Canon 17-55 F/2.8, Canon 70-200 F/4 L, Manfrotto 190XPROB

Love Planar! if there's no thread for your version, try starting one... if no one else is posting on it, i don't see why not post it here....just mention in the post your version of the Zeiss 85... it'd be nice to see any contrasts...if any... but in the end, its a Zeiss 85 1.4 Gear: The Official Gear List / Market Feedback / Sig thread #2468

The way the blur falls off is unique to this lens in that it has a beautifully painted look.
