If anyone knows where I can pickup a Canon 1Dc for under 300 w/ charger and battery, and hopefully a low shutter count, let me know via pm! Was shooting this past week and really miss the ~10fps and 45 focusing points. the 20D and 5D did its job, but not all of my photos were spot on in focusing and miss that 1D for that :( lol

Aw ignore my previous post, found a 1Diin (a little banged up, but all cosmetic) for $440 shipped.

If anyone is looking for a 1Dc, the place I just bought mine from has them for $220 + shipping w/ a 60 day warranty.

Google Kenmore cameras in Washington state and check their used camera listings.

Good Capture Steveod! :D

Ta mate Had a great 3 weekends in a row with over 750 shots [on one 3yr old made in china battery] last weekend all with that old trusty EF70-210, it never fails to focus . My poor old camera felt a little lost out there with all those big white lenses and 1d mk111s and mk1V bodies.
We sent our driver back on the big bird to cold grey Lowestoft on Sunday night and now it's back to work and this weekend tackle the foot high lawns.

I decided on the base of that to ask a local family-run Independant Repairers who gave me the quote I accepted (still not far off the Camera's value). Both the Authorized & the Independant Repairers assured me that most Parts are still available for the 1D Classic.

Can you please tell me more? I am still thinking of buying a used 1D late this year, but I need to make certain that parts are available. Perhaps I had been misinfirmed, because I was told parts were hard to get lately. (Or maybe this was just temporary due to the situation in Japan?)

See this earlier quote from earlier in the thread:

Canon no longer services the 1D. Parts are available on eBay and such, but for mirror box failures and such, Canon no longer stocks the parts.

Thanks!

I can't really tell you very much! POTN is very much an international forum & the situation may vary from one country to another. I can only repeat what I was told by both a Official Canon & an Independant Repair Agent in the UK, which is that Parts are available (mabye Canon Japan are out of parts but Canon UK have a shed full of them).

What I can you is that the cost of repairing a 1D Classic is very close to what they are worth. My Father-in-Law thinks I am mad to get it repaired!
