Pretty much relevant...

Sitting in my photography class in school, girl comes in and sits next to me asking what the long thing on my camera was. I told her it was a lens, she goes "Oh we needed that? I threw mine out with the box" ..........I'm not thinking her future in the class is looking too bright

I was sitting on the bank of a small channel of water with a 40d and a 400 5.6 shooting dragon flies. I was just off a walking trail through a nature area. A couple came along and I noticed they stopped about 20 yards from me and stood with their fingers near their ears. I finished my shot and looked them, thanked them and said they could go through. I thought they were very thoughtfull to wait for me. Then the lady asks "why didn't you shoot?" I said, "Oh I am just shooting dragon flies". She looked a bit confused and asked "what kind of gun is that?" I had to explain to her it was a camera. You guessed it, she pulls out a very small pocket sized P&S and said, "that doesn't look like my camera." I smiled and said, I like the old ones!!!!! They walked on and I laughed myself silly.

Yeah, those "old" cameras are the best :)

I asked a Micro Center (computer store, actually quite good... other than camera stuff) employee if they had any high speed CF cards and he insisted that I meant SD. "Only old, crappy cameras use CF cards... I don't think they even make them any more."

lol, this reminds me of when HiFi equipment first went digital. All the stores make major profit off cables. They used to up sell to the high dollar cables, because of how much better then image or sound would be with good cables (and back then, it was true).

How ever now days, watching a 17 year old try to explain to me why A $100 HDMI cable is better then a $10 dollar one, is comical. He knows he is lying, and he knows I know he is lying, but he has to do it.

I'm sure this has been covered, but I love it when people base their judgement of their equipment vs. mine on age or megapixels...somehow their 12 MP Samsung P&S that they bought a year ago is supposed to blow away my lowly, old 5Dc and 1D3...
