What about a 50D as as upgrade from a 30D......noticeable?

The things I notice the most after moving from a 30D for about a year now: files are a lot bigger making computer crunching a lot slower, 1GB cards are way too small, better high ISO performance, auto sensor cleaning is great, microfocus adjustment is a wonderful addition, live view is not important to me, image quality is better but not the reason to upgrade.

So I started to try a little time lapse stuff. Just shot this last night with my 50D and Tamron 17-50. Part of a much larger project to come...

I love the colors in this photo.

Thanks, I got lucky on the timing. They had been teasing me all day. The Blue Jays are the worse though, 13 of them in the trees just down from my house. I even open my door and their gone. 400mm isn't enough lens.

Not bad. Just need to add some audio. :)

How did you do the actual photos with the 50D?

Yeah, I will add audio when I finish the project, that's just one part of it and was kind of a test. I plan on doing a bunch of locations around Seattle. :D

It was shot with my 50D on a tripod with a Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 at f/8, 4 sec exposure, 2 sec interval on a Canon TC-80N3. Compiled and did some light editing on all the pics in Lightroom and made into a slideshow at 24fps.
